kaleeeeeeee: You see, this is why some people in Hawaiʻi HATE tourists. Honu are PROTECTED under STATE AND FEDERAL LAW. How would you tourists like it if we came to the mainland and started pissing on everything you considered “sacred”? Exactly. These people should be sent to PRISON for doing this. Sure, you can considered it “harmless”, but you’re breaking the law. That’s like driving 100 mph on a 65 mph freeway and not getting ticketed. If you’re gonna come to Hawaiʻi, please freshen up on your knowledge about the animals that roam these islands.  This is disgusting. I used to work on-call as a Student Turtle Responder with the University of Hawaii Manoa Marine Option Program of the National Marine Fisheries & NOAA’s Marine Turtle Research Program. When I responded to a call on weekends and holidays I would get so much back talk and had more problems with ignorant tourists then the locals who were calling about injured or stranded sea turtles on Oahu.  Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles have been on Earth longer than us and are threatned by us. Don’t be an ASS, give them a chance to flourish in a world that WE, as a human race, have destroyed. I wonder how this woman, pictured above, would feel if I visited her in Anytown, USA and squatted over her while she was resting and took pictures with my friends?
